What's The Deal With Ashwagandha?

We thought it was about time we talk about one of our favorite, most powerful herbs that might  be the answer to your health!  There are countless herbs, superfoods, antioxidants, vitamins, and supplements out there, but sometimes it can be a little difficult to choose which ones are right for you. Herbal medicine has been around for hundreds of years, especially evergreen shrubs like Ashwagandha. These little shrubs have been found in India, Africa, and parts of the Middle East. Ashwagandha is known for its many benefits like increase in energy, reducing inflammation, reducing pain, alleviating anxiety, and improving overall health.

Why is Ashwagandha beneficial for stress?

During stressful times, the cortisol levels in your body become much higher, which causes your heart to beat harder and faster. When you breathe more rapidly, your body produces more glucose for energy. Your mind is then affected by becoming hyper focused on any possible threats, which causes your body to go into “fight or flight” mode. However, when these symptoms become chronic, that is when long-term stress can cause continuous inflammation, and increase the risk of developing chronic conditions.

When you take Ashwagandha, it has been found to help normalize cortisol levels, which ultimately reduces the stress responses and symptoms overall. Among these benefits, this powerful herb has been known to also reduce inflammation, reduce cancer risks, improve memory, improve immune function, and also has anti-aging properties. Ashwagandha is considered a Rasayana, which means that it helps maintain youth both mentally and physically.

Ashwagandha can come in many different forms including pills, powders and tonics. Over the past year, we have been able to stock our shop with many powerful supplements and powders containing Ashwagandha that can be suited for your specific health concern:
